Contract News – East Anglia ONE offshore windfarm

Offshore Wind Consultants Limited (OWC), part of the Aqualis Offshore group, has successfully completed the supervision and management of the onshore and overwater cable route site investigation for the East Anglia ONE offshore windfarm off the east coast of the UK.

This was a high profile and complex investigation using a variety of plant and equipment at locations that were widely distributed geographically throughout the cable route. The investigation was carried out over the summer onshore, overwater in the Deben estuary, and up to 14km offshore. A geophysical survey was complemented by CPTs, cable percussive and rotary boreholes. The investigation was undertaken from a jack up, via a pontoon, and from an offshore vessel (see photos below).OWC has been commended by Paul Stearns, Head of Construction at ScottishPower Renewables Offshore for the “highly professional way that (OWC) has managed the package over the last two months.” The investigation was managed by the OWC geotechnical team and was carried out without reportable incidents, with minimal deviation from the technical scope, and within a tight timeframe.
