EAOne

OWC delivered, as part of its work, an innovative approach to Site Investigation (SI), with a live SI campaign and ground modelling. By optimising in an innovative way and managing design and project risks, saved the developer £4 million contributing to lowering the pre-FID spend. OWC developed the foundation concept including drivability analysis.

As part of this project OWC also conducted a CBRA on the whole export cable route. Site assessment and modelling of the landing was also completed including all HDD points under roads and rivers, from landing to the grid connection. OWC was nominated for a ground engineering award for its innovative work on this project.

OWC continue to provide support on a full-time basis within the project including Offshore OFTO Package Manager through pre-FEED to construction, O&M Realisation Engineer, Onshore Electrical Site Manager, Onshore Project Administrator, Offshore installation Manager, Fabrication Manager, Lead Foundation Engineer and technical Services Engineer responsible for Met Mast decommissioning.

EAThree

Strategy support covering a site investigation, conceptual foundation design, risk appraisal and turbine layout assessment.

OWC will assist with the development of the overall layout of the wind turbine generators, considering a number of variables including bathymetry, soil conditions, seabed mobility, foundation type and foundation installation.

Providing SI project management and interpretation and the provision of offshore SI Client reps.

OWC also holds an Engineering support framework for the EAThree project.

Galloper

Programme and Risk Review included a review of the current programme and risk profile on the project. The main objective being to advise on the risk profile on the project and to identify additional risk items from an independent review.

Following on from the programme and risk review project OWC were appointed to undertake a detailed pre-mortem analysis on the project.

London Array

Project management of a survey campaign of the London Array/BritNed cable crossing. Scope included developing the employer requirements, running the ITT competition, overseeing the works and reporting the results. Reviewing and comparing survey data and making recommendations for ongoing cable protection.

Navitus Bay

OWC delivered geotechnical consultancy work on the project including a live ground model etc. that fed into the foundation design. We provided technical support and project management in the following packages; installation work, LIDAR and offshore sub-station. OWC were responsible for all aspects of the technical and some commercial inputs. Preparing Employers Requirements, running tender competitions etc. This included key work was to build up sufficient site conditions data to allow an economic design of the foundations and an accurate and an accurate and safe installation panning.

Neart na Gaoithe

Development and delivery of a training module on offshore wind farm construction and project management to the Mainstream Renewable Power offshore wind team.

Detailed CAPEX estimate prepared for the project and developing an SI strategy to inform foundation design on a site of complex weak-rock geology, in combination with Imperial College and Geotechnical Consulting Group. Walney 1 and 2

Provision of owners engineering and project support services for the reburial works for the Walney 1 Export Cable: method statements and other supporting document; obtain MMO licence; Employer’s Requirements; support the procurement process; and provide general project management support during the planning stages and also overseeing offshore work.

West of Duddon Sands Wind Farm

Various consultancy support on cable issues relating to the wind farm and technical and commercial review of the proposed cable remediation works at the Barrow cable crossing and KP8.8 OWC also provided offshore representatives to see the placement over 75,000 tonnes of rock. Review of cable burial issues and providing advice on mitigations for future cable protection.

Westermost Rough Wind Farm
