OWC will also develop detailed employer’s requirements for cable repair operations in different water depths and for different cable types.

“Our focus will be contingency planning that allows an effective response as well as timely and cost effective remediation to any arising issues around cable maintenance, repair and ongoing robustness and integrity. This is one of our core competences, and we are very pleased that Transmission Capital Services Limited has recognised this,” says Ian Bonnon, managing director of OWC.

“Latest data from the insurance industry suggest that cable issues currently represent circa 80% of claims by volume and circa 75% of value in offshore wind. Our personnel have over 20 years’ experience of installation and protection of subsea cables in offshore wind. This is augmented with a deeper experience in subsea cables reaching back to the mid-1980s. Whether our clients are developers constructing the transmission assets or OFTOs reviewing for transaction or maintaining the asset; OWC are providing the expert support which is required,” Bonnon adds.
